Offline On Facebook - As much as we all like chatting with good friends on Facebook, it can get aggravating when your internet browsing is continuously interrupted by chat notices and brand-new windows opening up. One way to prevent this circumstance is to set your Facebook chat status to offline. This setting will make it appear that you are currently not available, enabling you to search in peace.
Log in to Facebook and click on Chat.
Next, click on Choices > Go Offline to set your chat status as "offline".
You can reset your online status by just clicking Chat (Offline) to reveal your friends list:.
This setting is not well advertised in the app and might have gone unnoticed by lots of users. Open the Facebook Messenger app and choose your address book. Tap on the Active tab then toggle the switch showed beside your username to the Off position:.
