Appear Offline Facebook - As much as all of us enjoy talking with buddies on Facebook, it can get frustrating when your internet browsing is continuously interrupted by chat alerts and brand-new windows opening. One method to prevent this circumstance is to set your Facebook chat status to offline. This setting will make it appear that you are currently not available, enabling you to search in peace.
Log in to Facebook and click Chat.
Next, click on Choices > Go Offline to set your chat status as "offline".
You can reset your online status by merely clicking on Chat (Offline) to reveal your good friends list:.
This setting is not well advertised in the app and might have gone unnoticed by lots of users. Open the Facebook Messenger app and pick your address book. Tap on the Active tab then toggle the switch displayed next to your username to the Off position:.
Now that you have effectively handicapped Facebook Chat your mobile, you will not appear in the Active tab of your good friends.

1. Suppose you switched on the chat by clicking on "Turn on chat" on the top right corner of the chat box.

4. A brand-new window opens. Here click on "Advanced Settings".
5. Here, you will be shown with 3 choices viz. Turn on chat for all good friends other than ..., Turn on chat for only some friends, Turn off chat.
choose from the options according to your need.

- To appear offline to everyone else other than a couple of pals, then choose the choice "Switch on chat for just some pals ..." and enter the names of your good friends to whom you desire to appear online.
- Not simply the names of your buddies, you can also go into the List.
