How To Get Offline In Facebook - As much as we all like talking with buddies on Facebook, it can get discouraging when your internet browsing is constantly interrupted by chat notifications and new windows opening. One way to avoid this circumstance is to set your Facebook chat status to offline. This setting will make it appear that you are presently not available, enabling you to search in peace.
Visit to Facebook and click on Chat.
Next, click Choices > Go Offline to set your chat status as "offline".
You can reset your online status by just clicking Chat (Offline) to reveal your friends list:.
This setting is not well publicized in the app and might have gone undetected by many users. Open the Facebook Messenger app and pick your address book. Tap on the Active tab then toggle the switch displayed next to your username to the Off position:.
Now that you have effectively handicapped Facebook Chat your mobile, you will no longer appear in the Active tab of your good friends.
