Edit
Make Facebook Photos Private. Any image that you're tagged in "belongs" to somebody else. Unless it's a picture of you that you tagged yourself in.,
If it's a photo of you that you took and tagged yourself in, you "own" the picture, and are for that reason in charge of its privacy settings. You can select "Only Me" from the drown down menu on the photo, like so:
Pictures that others have actually tagged you in will stay public, even if you remove the tag from that picture Whoever published the photo that your tagged in "owns" that photo.
To get rid of a tag, click the drop down arrow at the top of the post/ picture and click "Eliminate Tag":
You'll get this alert though:
You can also alter your timeline privacy settings. These are mine:
Go to settings from the drop down menu:.
Then select "Timeline and Tagging".
You'll have the ability to control exactly what can be posted on your timeline, and if you see somebody has tagged a photo of you, you can remove the tag and opt to conceal it from your timeline.
Facebook will alert you to anybody who's tagged you in anything on your actual timeline, at the bottom right of your cover picture.
In summary, only your very own material can be made private. Anything you've been tagged in by others will be public - but you have the option to hide this material from your timeline.
Hope Make Facebook Photos Private this helps!
