Those images can make revealing somebody another image on your iPhone (or iPad) an awkward experience, as you're hoping they don't start flipping through your Electronic camera Roll to discover that horrible photo of you after winning the pie consuming contest. Luckily the latest versions of iOS include a brand-new way to alleviate that potential awkwardness by hiding choose images.

The image hiding feature should be enabled individually for each image, as it's set on a per-image basis. At the minute there is no bulk hide function like there is with the capability to bulk remove a lot of photos simultaneously, so you might desire to get in the practice of frequently hiding the pictures you do not wish to appear in your general images app views.
Note this feature is readily available only to iOS 8 and newer, and though we're going to concentrate on the iPhone here, it works the exact same on the iPad and iPod touch too.
Hiding an Image in iOS
- Open Images and go to Electronic camera Roll or Albums as usual
- Tap on the picture you wish to hide, this will open it as normal
- Tap and hang on the picture itself to raise an action menu, choose "Hide".
- Validate that you want to conceal the image by tapping "Conceal Photo".
Now that a picture or lots of are concealed, they'll end up being invisible to the Collections, Years views, and rather are positioned in a different "Concealed" album.

- Open the Photos app and tap on "Albums" view.
- Find in the list of Albums the folder called "Hidden" (keep in mind the thumbnail is not automatically created for that folder, using extra personal privacy).
- Find your covert pictures in the Hidden Album.
This is where all your covert photos will be stored.
Keep in mind that while a photo is hidden, it can still be shared or sent out through messages as normal, as long as you access it from this surprise album.
Unhiding a Picture in iOS.
- From the Hidden photo album, tap on the image you wish to unhide.
- Tap and hang on the photo and pick "Unhide" from the submenu that turns up.
This sends out the photo back to the basic Cam Roll and it becomes available to all albums and collections views again.
Is the Image Truly Hidden on the iPhone? Kind Of.
It is essential to understand how the conceal photo function works: the photo( s) are hidden from the video camera roll, Minutes, Collections, and Year view, but are still noticeable in an image album not-so-discretely called "Hidden". In other words, while this is very reliable at hiding pictures from casual iPhone use and from browsing your pictures in iOS, anybody who understands to try to find the 'Hidden' album can still see the concealed images.
This is a decent way of handling your really private photos, but if you're worried about someone discovering the Concealed images album, think about using the send-to-self technique to avoid offering image album and electronic camera roll access, or perhaps simply message them the pictures rather.
