Secret Facebook Groups



Secret Facebook Groups are one of the hidden gems of the platform that a lot of companies do not know about. A Secret group is an easy for organisations to create and manage small group interactions in an entirely personal setting.

Secret Facebook Groups


Anyone with a Facebook account has the ability to set up and use a Secret Group. This is not unique or readily available via Company Pages, but is an excellent resource especially for little organisations that don't use tools like Salesforce, Yammer, or BaseCamp for callaboration, collaborating schedules, and sharing marketing ideas.

There are 3 types of Secret Groups:

  • Public: anybody can see your Group and find it in search

  • Closed: anybody can see your group, however only members can see and make posts

  • Secret: just members can see and make posts



Trick Group Security.

  • Secret Groups are not indexed by Google.

  • If somebody has the URL to your Trick Group they can not gain access without being welcomed.

  • If your Trick Group URL is posted in another Trick Group, the URL is still not noticeable or accessible.


Keep in mind: You will get notifications to your individual News Feed, but just you will have the ability to see them, not your Friends.

Creating a Secret Group.

You must initially have a personal Facebook account to produce a Secret Group:.

  • Go to http://facebook.com/groups.

  • Click Develop Group.

  • Call your Group and select your icon from the drop down menu.

  • Add members to your Trick Group (you must be friends with them to add to the group); include them to the member box.

  • If you want to consist of members who are not your pals, create the Group as 'Closed' initially, then change the Group setting to Secret.

  • Select your Personal privacy Setting and click Develop.

Remember your Group MUST be Closed if you are going to include members you are not buddies with.

Select your Trick Group icon (this is optional).

Remember to change your Group Setting from 'Closed" to "Secret" if you have invited members that you are not buddies with in the previous action.

Before you start utilizing your new Trick Group we would suggest that you inspect your Settings. The Settings icon is located on the ideal side of your new feed under the pictures.

Your Trick Group is now all set for private use with your members. Start sharing photos, e-mail addresses, and working together on tasks.
