How To Make Photos On Facebook Private. Any picture that you're tagged in "belongs" to someone else. Unless it's an image of you that you tagged yourself in.,
If it's an image of you that you took and tagged yourself in, you "own" the picture, and are therefore in charge of its personal privacy settings. You can choose "Only Me" from the drown down menu on the photo, thus:
Photos that others have tagged you in will remain public, even if you eliminate the tag from that image Whoever uploaded the image that your tagged in "owns" that picture.
To remove a tag, click the fall arrow at the top of the post/ image and click "Get rid of Tag":

You can also change your timeline privacy settings. These are mine:
Go to settings from the drop down menu:.
Then select "Timeline and Tagging".
You'll be able to control exactly what can be published on your timeline, and if you see somebody has actually tagged an image of you, you can get rid of the tag and decide to hide it from your timeline.
Facebook will signal you to anyone who's tagged you in anything on your actual timeline, at the bottom right of your cover image.
In summary, only your very own material can be made private. Anything you've been tagged in by others will be public - but you have the choice to conceal this material from your timeline.
