How to Hide Your Photos On Facebook

How To Hide Your Photos On Facebook. Everybody likely has a couple of pictures resting on their iPhone they 'd rather no one else see, whether it's humiliating selfies, inadequately filtered or modified pictures, an image of a receipt or individual documents, or anything else in the realm of personal photos.

Those photos can make showing somebody another image on your iPhone (or iPad) an uncomfortable experience, as you're hoping they don't begin browsing your Video camera Roll to find that awful image of you after winning the pie eating contest. Luckily the most recent versions of iOS include a brand-new way to alleviate that possible awkwardness by hiding select images.

How To Hide Your Photos On Facebook

The photo concealing feature must be allowed separately for each picture, as it's set on a per-image basis. At the minute there is no bulk hide function like there is with the capability to bulk eliminate a lot of photos all at as soon as, so you might want to get in the habit of regularly hiding the pictures you don't desire to appear in your general images app views.

Note this feature is offered only to iOS 8 and more recent, and though we're going to focus on the iPhone here, it works the very same on the iPad and iPod touch too.

Concealing an Image in iOS

  • Open Images and go to Camera Roll or Albums as usual

  • Tap on the photo you want to hide, this will open it as usual

  • Tap and hold on the image itself to bring up an action menu, choose "Conceal".

  • Verify that you desire to conceal the picture by tapping "Conceal Picture".

Now that a picture or lots of are concealed, they'll become unnoticeable to the Collections, Years views, and rather are put in a separate "Surprise" album.

Accessing Your Hidden Photos in iOS.

  • Open the Photos app and tap on "Albums" view.

  • Find in the list of Albums the folder called "Hidden" (note the thumbnail is not immediately created for that folder, providing extra personal privacy).

  • Discover your surprise pictures in the Hidden Album.

This is where all your covert images will be kept.

Note that while an image is hidden, it can still be shared or sent through messages as typical, as long as you access it from this covert album.

Unhiding an Image in iOS.

  • From the Covert image album, tap on the image you desire to unhide.

  • Tap and hang on the photo and choose "Unhide" from the submenu that turns up.

This sends out the image back to the general Cam Roll and it becomes accessible to all albums and collections views once again.

Is the Image Really Surprise on the iPhone? Kind Of.

It is very important to understand how the conceal picture function works: the photo( s) are hidden from the electronic camera roll, Moments, Collections, and Year view, but are still visible in a picture album not-so-discretely called "Hidden". Simply puts, while this is really effective at hiding pictures from casual iPhone use and from turning through your photos in iOS, anyone who knows to try to find the 'Hidden' album can still see the surprise images.

This is a good way of handling your truly private images, but if you're worried about someone discovering the Hidden photos album, consider using the send-to-self technique to avoid offering photo album and camera roll access, or perhaps just message them the pictures rather.
